"Eyeless Jack" is a short 3D horror game created by indie developer tayoDEV. It's an adaptation of the popular creepypasta story of the same name. After your house gets foreclosed, you move in with your brother Edwin whom you haven't seen in 10 years. At first, everything seems normal, but you soon find yourself caught up in a disturbing and traumatic experience.

The game is a first-person psychological horror experience designed to be creepy and atmospheric. It has a low-poly PSX (PlayStation) inspired visual style with simple but effective graphics that create an unsettling vibe. The gameplay is straightforward - you use WASD to move around and E to interact with objects and progress through the story.

Technical Details: "Eyeless Jack" is available for Windows PC. The current version is 1.1 released just a few days ago. The game file size is 103 MB. It was developed using the Unity game engine.

The Good:
The strongest aspect of "Eyeless Jack" is the creepy, intense atmosphere it manages to build through smart use of audio, visual cues and pacing. Despite the simple low-poly visuals, the environment design and attention to small details like muddy footprints create a pervasive sense of dread. The voice acting, while not mega-budget quality, is convincing and adds to the immersion.

The adaptation does a great job of capturing the spirit of the original creepypasta story while expanding it into an interactive experience. The slow build-up by starting with mundane tasks makes the eventual descent into horror even more impactful and jarring.

For a short indie horror game, "Eyeless Jack" packs an impressive amount of quality content. The total experience lasts around 1-2 hours, which is a great length for this type of focused narrative experience.

The Bad:
Some players felt the pacing was a bit too slow at times, with too much time spent on filler tasks like moving boxes early on before the horror elements really kick in. A bit more streamlining of the setup could have improved the momentum.

While the simplistic visuals work for the most part in creating an eerie vibe, there are times where the low-poly style crosses into looking a bit too primitive and rough around the edges.

The Verdict:
"Eyeless Jack" is a respectable horror achievement, especially for an indie solo developer project. It succeeds in its main goal of providing an immersive, haunting experience that gets under your skin. The effective storytelling and atmosphere more than make up for technical limitations.

For fans of supernatural creepypasta horror stories and psychological horror games in general, "Eyeless Jack" is definitely worth checking out. It's a quality little gem that shows the developer tayoDEV has some serious potential for crafting narrative-driven horror experiences.

At around 1-2 hours long and a "pay what you want" pricing model, there's little risk in giving this one a shot if you're looking for a tense, unsettling good time. Just make sure to play it alone, in the dark, with the headphones on for maximum pants-wetting terror.
